Policy Network and Policy Press held a joint event to launch two new books on the future of progressive politics. The launch took place at Politico's bookstore in Westminster on Monday the 17th of November, 2003 from 6:30 to 8:30pm.
 
Rethinking Social Democracy - Edited by Matt Browne and Patrick Diamond

This thought-provoking collection of essays stakes out a bold new agenda for the future of social democracy. The volume brings together established political figures from across the globe and a new ‘up-and-coming’ generation of European social democratic politicians and thinkers. Their open examines the steps required to ensure social democratic policies and institutions are renewed for the 21st century.

The Progressive Manifesto: New Ideas for the centre-left- Edited by Anthony Giddens

The eight papers included in this collection were prepared for the Progressive Governance Conference in July 2003. All have been written by leading experts in their fields. In his introduction, Anthony Giddens draws the threads together to sketch a powerful and fresh centre-left political approach.
