Social democracy after the third way

Is Europe's left ready to govern?

Policy Network is hosting a public debate and lecture, in partnership with King’s College London, to mark the launch of After the Third Way: The Future of Social Democracy in Europe (edited by Olaf Cramme and Patrick Diamond).

Read the Financial Times' review of the book by Tony Barber.

Just three days after the French result and a week after the significant UK mayoral and local elections, leading academics and political thinkers will ask: Is Europe's left ready to govern?

Speakers include:
Andrew Gamble, professor and head of the department of politics at the University of Cambridge
Will Hutton, principal of Hertford College, Oxford and chair of the Big Innovation Centre
Zaki Laïdi, professor of international relations at Institut d’études politiques de Paris (Sciences-Po)
Katrine Kielos, lead-writer for Aftonbladet, Sweden and Scandanavia's largest newspaper

Chair: Patrick Diamond, senior research fellow at Policy Network and Nuffield College, Oxford, and former head of policy planning in 10 Downing Street

After the Third Way is available through the publisher I.B. Tauris.
