Policy Network, in association with Demos, held a seminar, entitled The kids aren't alright: tackling Europe's child poverty deficit, on Sunday 23 September at the Wessex Hotel at the Labour party conference in Bournemouth.

Speakers included Lord Anthony Giddens, Former Director of the LSE; Veli-Matti Ritakallio, Professor of Turko University, Finland; Julian Walker, UK Director of Policy and Research at Barnados; and Kathy Evans, Director of Policy at the Children's Society. David Lammy, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills chaired the meeting.
