Anthony Giddens
, the leading figure in the formulation of the 'Third Way' and renewal of progressive policies, launched his major new intervention "Over to you Mr Brown" (Polity Press, March 2007) at a crucial time in British politics. A participant in the original Clinton-Blair dialogues, Giddens had the opportunity to see the New Labour project unfold from the inside and also shape its intellectual and policy content. Ten years on, he does the same again.

The launch was marked by a public debate on Wednesday 28 March at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)

Speakers at the event included Tony Giddens, Peter Riddell, and Polly Toynbee and David Willets MP. Tony Giddens is former director of LSE and Labour peer. Peter Riddell is a columnist for The Times. Polly Toynbee is a political and social commentator for The Guardian. David Willetts is Shadow Secretary of State for Education and Skills.
